Research classification: Predominantly preclinical evidence
Compound overview
BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide. TB-500 is a commercial designation that is not consistently used for the same chemical form as full-length thymosin beta-4; identity should be confirmed by sequence and analytical documentation.
Published research
A 2025 systematic review of BPC-157 identified 35 preclinical studies and one small clinical study, with no established clinical safety database. Separately, thymosin beta-4 has been studied in cellular, animal, and some clinical research on tissue repair.
Evidence limitations
Full-length thymosin beta-4 results must not be presented as evidence for an unspecified TB-500 fragment. The two-component blend has not been established as equivalent to either compound studied alone.
